There are three stages on
human life; infancy, childhood and maturity. For sure I am in the second stage,
childhood and I am approximately becoming an adult. But, who I am? Just a
single girl like the rest of the women?
Today my teacher asks me to write a manifesto about the things I learned
during my 18 years of life and how I am going to change the world. Off course
there are many things I had learned during my life and is impossible to write
them all down. So I decided to highlight the important things of me and the
reason of why I am NOT a girl like the others.
I remember the first day of
school like it was yesterday; with my two pony tails, my pink Hello Kitty
school bag and my pink lunchbox. Things change, I change. Today I hate pony
tails; I do not use Hello Kitty school bag and off course I do not use a
lunchbox, I grow up. In the first stage
of my life, I learned lots of things. One of the main things I learned was to
read and write. Time passed, I started to grow up, my body changed, my food
size increase, my voice turned acute and all those changes that happened to a
person that passes from the infancy to the childhood stage.
I am 18 years old now and I
see myself like a person with many qualities and completely different from others.
During the second stage of my life cycle, I become a dreamer and a girl who likes to leave a foot print in
the people’s lives like all my teachers do it in mine. The school was my second
home; the place where I could find people that give me unconditional support
and help me be who I am today.
All my teachers had a place
in my heart and I am extremely grateful with them. Thanks to my math teacher,
my passion of becoming an administrator began. Even though Social Studies was
not my favorite class, I learned that we need to study history because if we
don’t we are condemned to repeated. I will never forget my English teacher and
my friend Nicky who in my entire senior year they try to teach me how to
pronounce “chair” and “share.” And to
the rest of my teachers that helped me find a way to handle crisis and face
obstacle. All my teachers teach my how to fight for my dreams and how to face
the real world.
I am writing this manifesto
because I want to express how grateful I am with all the people that support me
during the first two stages of my life. I am completely sure that I want to be
an example to the rest of the people. I want to persuade my dreams and archive
my goals. As I said before I like to leave foot prints in the people lives and
I wanted to be remember as the Valentina that never give up.
But the question is; how I
am going to change the world? I had been
thinking on the answer to this question three weeks ago and I only know one
answer. I am going to change the world like the world change me. Big changes
start with little changes. I want to inspire all the people that in this world
nothing is impossible. That we, as the future generation, need to change the world, we need to
change our vision. The future depends on us. We, the adolescents, need to have
a global vision and an entrepreneurial mind to make a better world, to help
others, to stop discrimination and decrease poverty. If we think more global
and if we have the goal to change the world we can do it.
These
are the things that make me different. A girl that want to be an example to the
rest of the people and also a girl with dreams. I see me in a future reading
this manifesto and thinking to myself, do you achieve all those goals?
Hopefully me answer will be YES!!
